Induction of Nyuon Susan Sebit to Honorary Membership in DKG Gamma Alpha Chapter

Nyuon is the 2018-2019 recipient of the Cora Weiss Fellowship from the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders. Cora Weiss, President of the Hague Appeal for Peace, was a participant in the drafting of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 which promotes women peace and security through the prevention of gender base violence.

Nyuon is an accomplished Human Rights lawyer from Juba, South Sudan. She is co-founder and Executive Director for the National Alliance for Women Lawyers which works towards ending violence against women and implementing the peace and security agenda in South Sudan.

Dr. Joan Bruner-Timmons and Deborah Rhem on their own

“Trip to Cuba”

Presentations were made by Dr. Joan Bruner-Timmons and Deborah Rhem, Gamma Alpha members, “Trip to Cuba.” Joan and Debbie explained their background/exposure that motivated their interest to visit Cuba. They utilized photos and slides to introduce the culture of the Cuban people, their history, art, architecture, foods and attractions. Their presentations were informative and most enjoyable!
