History

Gamma Alpha, Pi State was formed from the Epsilon Chapter in 1975. Margaret Blaha of Epsilon, was the driving force. The first gathering of our new chapter, with Epsilon members, was in the Waldorf-Astoria, for a luncheon meeting.

Patricia Kelly, currently Secretary, served for several years as President of Gamma Alpha. She hosted meetings in her home on the upper West Side.

Many of our members taught at Hunter College, Manhattan Community College, and at Queens University, adding a solid intellectual component. Other members who taught at Marymount College, NYU or other schools, also offered their institutions for special programs.
